87000 ton runway

The command headquarters of Spectrum, Cloudbase is an airborne aircraft carrier operating at 40,000 ft usually in a geostationary position. She hovers on 4 jet thrusters and has a further 4 horizontal movement jet nacelles allowing repositioning to a point anywhere above the Earth.

Of course this is all academic as the real attraction of Cloud base is of course the Angel Interceptors on deck and ready to be catapulted off at great speed and there were girls piloting those things!!!
As a kid I thought that it was a great idea and strangely, as I moved more towards teenagehood ,I liked the idea even more ;)
