Inspired by the term “flying artillery”, a label given to the Junkers JU87, I got to thinking about an airborne 88mm that would play holy hell with allied armour and bomber streams alike. Recoil dampening is a combined hydraulic and field energy system which was prone to failure in early models which was quite spectacular to witness but not to be part of.
