She got the boys back home

Inspired by looking at images of terribly shot up B17's getting back to base against all odds. The crews got very attached their aircraft and in some cases almost imbued them with a personality of their own. So here is a fictitious tribute to all those crews, sometimes wounded, always scared shitless and likely to never end their tour of duty. A B17 called Guardian Angel taking care of her boys right to the end.
